Rise of the Underworlds is a 2D animated short film adaptation of Legends of Runeterra, featuring popular Champions and introducing the steampunk locale of Zaun to promote a game expansion.

​

The challenge was grounding Zaun’s fantastical, steampunk-noir world while integrating multiple Champions. We focused on Ekko, a street-smart prodigy, as he defends his neighborhood, tying the Champions’ stories together.

Inspired by classic noir, Inglourious Basterds, Dune, and Blade Runner, we crafted a visually striking, action-packed film animated by Sun Creature.

The film boosted expansion sales, delivered an immersive storytelling experience, and earned recognition from Animation World Network.
